Dangers
Unfortunately this site is a very exposed site on the Aliwal Shoal and can be a very difficult dive.
Description
This is a large sand patch in the inside edge of the reef, at the northern end of the Aliwal Shoal. It has a raised lip that offers protection for new divers (students) and juvenile fish from any current.
It is a great site to take students to do their skills as one can get settled on the sandy bottom. It is regarded as the nursery of the reef for this reason.
